That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the essential role of renewable energy in meeting Scotland's net zero targets; acknowledges what it considers is the significant growth of onshore wind farms, transmission infrastructure and energy storage developments across rural Scotland, including in Dumfries and Galloway; notes the view that community engagement is vital in ensuring that such developments are appropriate and deliver tangible benefits to local people, and calls on the Scottish Government to ensure that rural communities are at the heart of decision making on energy infrastructure.
