Education and Skills Committee

1. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instrument— Academic Awards and Distinctions (University of the Highlands and Islands) (Scotland) Order of Council 2017 (2017/146). 2. Workforce Planning for Scotland's Schools: The Committee will take evidence from- Alan Armstrong, Strategic Director, Education Scotland; Kathy Cameron, Policy Manager, COSLA; Greg Dempster, General Secretary, AHDS (Association of Headteachers and Deputes in Scotland); Martin Fairbairn, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive, SFC (Scottish Funding Council); Dr Morag Redford, Chair, Scottish Council of Deans of Education; John Stodter, Representative, ADES (Association of Directors of Education in Scotland); Jim Thewliss, General Secretary, SLS (School Leaders Scotland); and then from— Ken Muir, Chief Executive, and Ellen Doherty, Director of Education, Registration and Professional Learning, GTCS (General Teaching Council for Scotland). 3. Annual report: The Committee will consider a draft annual report for the parliamentary year from 12 May 2016 to 11 May 2017. 4. School infrastructure - witness expenses: The Committee will be invited to delegate to the Convener responsibility for arranging for the SPCB to pay, under Rule 12.4.3, any expenses of witnesses in the inquiry on school infrastructure. 5. Review of Evidence (in private): The Committee will review the evidence heard earlier.
