1. Animals and Wildlife (Penalties, Protections and Powers) (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will take evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from—
Leia Fitzgerald, Wildlife Management Team Leader, Wildlife Management and Biodiversity Unit, Grant McLarty, Solicitor, Animal Health and Welfare Branch, Directorate for Legal Services, Hazel Reilly, Solicitor, Forestry, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Directorate for Legal Services, and Andrew Voas, Veterinary Head of Animal Welfare, Animal Welfare Branch, Scottish Government.

2. EU exit and the environment: The Committee will take evidence from-
Roseanna Cunningham, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform;
Katriona Carmichael, Deputy Director, Environment and Land Use Strategy, Clare Hamilton, Head, Climate Change Division, and Don McGillivray, Deputy Director, Environmental Quality and Circular Economy Division, Scottish Government;
Mike Palmer, Deputy Director, Marine Scotland, Marine Scotland.

3. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will take evidence on the Conservation (Natural Habitats, &c.) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2019 [draft] from—
Roseanna Cunningham, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform;
Hugh Dignon, Head, Wildlife Management and Biodiversity Unit, Scottish Government.

4. Subordinate legislation: Roseanna Cunningham (Cabinet Secretary for the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform) to move—S5M-19519—That the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee recommends that the Conservation (Natural Habitats, &c.) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2019 [draft] be approved.

5. Work programme (in private): The Committee will review its EU exit work programme.

6. Animals and Wildlife (Penalties, Protections and Powers) (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee will review the evidence heard earlier in the meeting.

7. Proposed Deposit Return Scheme (in private): The Committee will consider the evidence received and its approach to the inquiry.


Proposed future business


At its next meeting, on 5 November 2019, the Committee expects to hear oral evidence from the Committee on Climate Change on the Scottish Climate Change Adaptation Programme and from Scottish Water, Business Stream, the Water Industry Commission from Scotland and the Customer Forum on Scottish Water's future investment plans.
